“Tinkoff Bank“ bought the application for storing documents “VKarmane“ (“In the pocket“ — translator’s note)
“Tinkoff Bank“ closed the deal to acquire the application “VKarmane“. The amount of the transaction is not disclosed. The application allows you to store data and scans of any documents on your smartphone. The service was launched in May 2013 and works on iOS, Android and Windows, told Tinkoff Bank to CNews. The application has 700,000 downloads and 150,000 active users on all platforms.
“Tinkoff Bank“ is planning to finalise the application and integrate it into the infrastructure of the financial online supermarket Tinkoff.ru.
“We see a perspective in products and services that help users collect, store, digitise documents, bank cards, loyalty cards and other personal identifiers. “Vkarmane“ will complement our services and make them even more convenient: the users will not need to enter manually their documents data, they will be able to perform any transactions even faster and easier, — said Maxim Evdokimov, Tinkoff.ru mobile products development vice president. — It will be enough to save the information in the application, and then all the necessary data will automatically be pulled up when using the services of Tinkoff.ru“.
“VKarmane“ application perfectly fits into the Tinkoff.ru ecosystem. We do a lot of things ourselves, but we are closely monitoring the new services and solutions that appear on the market and are ready to consider them if we see the potential for synergy with our platform. This transaction is also important for us in terms of working with startup teams and integrating external solutions into our services,“ — said Artem Yamanov, Tinkoff Bank senior vice president.
“We are glad that the three-years way of active work, has been successfully completed in this transaction. Our product passes into reliable hands and will continue its development“, — commented Sergey Pakhandrin, the “VKarmane“ founder.
“This transaction is one of the most important events of the year for the entire Russian startup ecosystem. First, it is one of the rare accelerator outputs from a portfolio company, and second, it is a deal between a startup and a corporation, which our market lacks so much,“ — said Dmitry Maslennikov, Disruptive.vc accelerator founder, shareholder of the application. “We are also happy to conclude this deal with Tinkoff Bank, which indicates a high appreciation of our service.“
“VKarmane“ users can upload images, documents requisites or any other information to the mobile application. The app allows you to process this information and forward it to contacts from the phone book. In this case, the mobile app protects users data.
